ummm hey what's up. i know i haven't posted in a while. i guess this is a little like seeing the girl you hooked up with on friday night in food court a week later. it's awkward for me and i don't know if i can try to be jovial or i am just supposed to do the head nod. or maybe it's a little more like seeing the girl you hooked up with on friday in the library. and she's sitting at the same row of computers as you. but not just any computer, the one right next to yours. and she has been looking at you all night. and she just tried the old cover-your-fart-up-with-a-sneeze trick. yeah, i'm sure you can agree it's pretty awkward.
well anyways i guess i'll give you all a few of my thoughts and perhaps even an update or two.
i'll start out with the fresh ketch. things are going well. the haddock is still the same fillet as the schrod and no one is any wiser. i feel like a jerk when i expalin the difference between our haddock and schrod to customers but i'm pretty good at schmoozing and everyone ends up happy. i've had several encounters with young attractive women. by encounters i mean i waited on them and tried to be flirty and funny without coming off too boyish. there is a fine line between that boyish charm and a rustic hearty man. needless to say, i haven't quite found the balance. i'm working on it and i was this (holds up index finger and thumb to indicate just *how* close i was) tonight but my manager came in and blew up my spot. no dice.
i've gone on several road trips in the last week. monday was about 92 degrees on cape cod and it was about 100 degrees in new york city. if you want to place a bet on which place i was, you can't because i'm going to tell you. i was in nyc staying at oliver's apt. he has AC in his and his roomates room but nothing in the rest of the apartment. if you want to place a bet on which part of the apt i was in you can't because i'm going to tell you. i was in the living room. i think i would have sweat less if i played a full court game of basketball in a jump suit in miami in june. it was ridiculous. i was interviewing with a company called MKTG. Ozzie Myers and Harry Norton work there and i think my working there would be a solid addition and an awesome job to learn the ropes of working for the man in a chill and fun setting.
Thursday i spent the night with TMID in boston and flew out friday am to lousiville, KY to interview with GE. the city is a tight place and i was somewhat sad to be riding to the airport after 4 hours of interviewing on friday afternoon. luckily for me, continental airlines is the worst company i have ever encountered with customer service. i do not know what they tell all representatives of the company but it has to be something along the lines of "it doesn't matter what the person's problem is, all we need you to do is act dumb enough to upset the customer enough that they will storm away in anger. no vouchers, no coupons, no lawsuits! that's the continental way" seriously, these people are so unhelpful. i feel like miner might be a bit more helpful in giving me a rundown on christianity than these people are. anyways, i made the best of a bad situation and went out with some of the people who are currently in the sales program i was applying for. they are mad chill, friendly, and fun to be around. we hit up louisville in style and it was indeed quite tight. i certainly hope i made a good impression. i think i may have you never know. well, let's put it this way. i didn't need to pull my trigger and although i tried to pick one, i never ended up fighting anyone. all in all, pretty successful. we stayed out until 4, i caught a plane flight at 10 the next morning (do the math), stayed in a holding pattern over logan airport for 2.5 hours, experienced babies crying for all of it, and made it back in time to work a full saturday shift....shitty.
anways as you can tell nothing of note has really happened to me lately. it's too bad.
i've been running a bit, maybe 3 times a week of about 4-5 a time. i go for bikerides, swim a bit, play some tennis, but i'm mostly lifting in an effort to not be a skinny distance runner now that i don't have to. for some reason, girls like steak. and i'm more than happy to give it to them.
