louis-villan

So i'm down here in the south. i like things so far. i have been training this past week and it is a ridiculous schedule. we're talking 7:30 to 6 pm every day followed by the executives of the national account taking us out to dinner. i don't mean to complain about a nice dinner, but shit being with the same people and sitting down all day can really exhaust a guy. the places they take us are chill and real nice, and i do have to mention that all of the older people like to HANG OUT. i haven't met a single person yet who doesn't like to drink bourbon. i have gained a fair amount of respect with the senior management because i drink my bourbon on the rocks and not watered down or pussied up with a bunch of coke. i don't even put any soda in it. people seem to like that.

on the nights that they don't take us out to eat, i stop by a gas station and pick up a 40 of steel reserve for 2.20 and go home to drink it by myself. it's somewhat depressing but it gets me sufficiently fucked up because of the lack of sleep i'm getting so i'm not complaining.

in fact, i'm working on a presentation for the PSHS6YGZSS model of the side by side GE refrigerator and i drank a 40 last night to get the creative juices flowing. suffice it to say that i'm going to kill my presentation tomorrow.

things of note:
today i went to the gas station to get my Steel, and i noticed that the "no shirt, no shoes, no service" law applies to only those states outside of kentucky. there was literally any entire gang in the circle Fuck without shirts on. I must say, they had an impressive ink pattern going on across their chests and arms, and i have to admit i was a bit jealous that i was wearing my joseph a. banks travel dress shirt while they were relaxing so kim and carefree.

accents are hot. being down in louisville and working with almost exclusively louis-villans, i have noticed that i have a soft spot for accents of the south. i like it, i don't quite know what i like about it, but i can say with a certain amount of confidence that if i were to make an adult video with a girl of southern origin, it would not be an entirely bad thing.

roomates. so i finally found a place to stay via craigslist. i looked up places to stay and i noticed a number of places for around 600 dollars/month that were single bedroom, bathrooms with a kitchen and bathroom. instead of paying for all of my new furniture and appliances, i decided instead to move into a very nice place for 300 dollars/month with two roomates. they both went to centre college in nowhere, KY and they seem to be fairly chill people. things i like about the apartment include: great neighboordhood with pleasant neighbors. large garage for implementing a 9x5 piece of plywoof for a multitude of purposes. large and long backyard for the strip and slide. it's close to work, and most importantly, it's close to the young social scene of bardstown road. real talk

i've also noticed that clap pushups seriously increase the quality of my beach body. because i have not garnered a gym membership, i need to work out any way that i can. it's basically pull ups and clap pushups. although yesterday i ran to the louisville track and did a two mile time trial. i ran 10:45 and immediately vomited. hot as fuck down here, but it's still good to know i can beat most high schoolers in a two mile should i so desire.

i like work and the people i work with. training is good for getting to know people becuase we spend upwards of 10 hours every day together. i particularly like this one guy that i work with because he reminds me of a friend i new in high school named liam cahill. he could literally be sitting in his chair breathing and i would find it funny. not to mention, he comes up with priceless retorts every so often. for example, today we were talking about the nickelodeon show: the adventures of alex mack concernign a teenage super hero whose power is to turn into water at the drop of the hat. he turns to me and says "i cannot think of a less impressive superpower". i guess you kind of had to be there but hte resulting converstaion made me laugh so hard that i almost choked on my lunch of chicken Parmesan.

so yea, things are good down here. e-mail me and let me know what's going on up norht. i like to party.

Westbound and Down

Hey boys, what's going on?

So I guess I might have told a couple of you about this...but I got a job about 4 weeks ago working for General Electric in louisville, ky. I got a phone interview and they flew me down here. Interview went well, my flight got canceled and I went out with the sales team i was interviewing with. It was fun as hell but the next day i was worried that i might have stepped on a few toes. after more careful thinking, i decided that i didn't succeed in fighting anyone, and i didn't pull my trigger so it couldn't have been that bad. Everyone is really nice down here and the southern accents are great.

So yeah I got the job a while ago and I was waiting tables back home at hyannis and doing pretty much nothing. Going to the Y, doing the beach circuit, running occasionally. Then i went to hanover for about 5 days to counsel running camp. i saw timmy, bramhall, and jake todd. it was fun, and i am currently under investigation for supplying alcohol to minors because 2 idiot underage counselors were causing a ruckus at EBAs and then tried to steal a sign and got arrested. it sucks and it's the last thing i need right now.

I started driving friday morning at 5 am and got to louisville around 11:30 that same night. nonstop, baby. I told my mom i was stopping so she wouldn't worry but really just packed another lip and kept going. I started work on monday, and it's real nice. It's all training and going over powerpoints about company policy and dress code and stuff like that and i'm itching to get into the meaty stuff. Most of the people who started with me (4 other girls) have interned for GE over the past couple years so i'm a bit behind in terms of knowledge about the company but i'm working hard, wearing ties every day (even though we don't need to) and trying to make a good impression. everybody is really fun and they play basketball every wednesday, go to happy hours, and every couple hours during the day everyone will just stop working and congregate around a cubicle and shoot the shit for a while. Some girls are work with aren't too bright though. One asked how far up california the mid atlantic region was and another asked when columbus day was and said that she could never remember because she wasn't good with presidents....they're still hot. it's really chill and fun.

i don't have a place to stay. fortunately, i do know one person in louisville who is letting me sleep on their couch...any guesses? my ex-girlfriend monica....it's only sort of a little bit awkward. anyways i'm looking for a place to stay and the guys in NYC and Boston are going to flip their lid when they hear what rent is down here...any guesses? 450/month everything included. and, the best part about being down here, tins of skoal are 2.65/tin. it's awesome.

U of L is so much different than dartmouth (duh i guess) but everything in this town centers around the cardinals. and everyone at work is either a huge UK fan or a huge UofL fan and everyone keeps pressing me to pick sides. I'm staying out of it. UofL's facilities are massive and their teams (basketball, football, track, soccer) are really good so i can't wait to check some of those matches out. plus, i live about 1.5 miles from churchill downs. it's tight. the girls down here are amazingly hot.

it's 100 degrees or hotter every day and the worst part is it stays that hot until about 8pm. after 8, it usually goes down to around 95 which is a nice break. it rained today so i had to go for a run and it wasn't too bad. i ran on the louisville track and did a workout. milex800mx400m and 4:56, 2:19, 62 pace and booted afterwards. i got to quit dipping.

anyways it's fun down here, and i like the people and the job but i miss you guys
